A luxurious and expansive setting with a few notable limitations

Mahogany Bay Resort makes a grand impression, sprawling across a large piece of land and feeling like its own self-contained estate. The private beach was exquisite, offering a serene getaway within the property itself. While on the expensive side, the on-site dining options did not compromise on quality, delivering satisfying meals.

The sheer size of the property and its remote location necessitated the use of a golf cart to get around, both on-site and in the nearby town. The resort offered limited on-site activities, which felt like a missed opportunity given its remote location. While the bungalow-style rooms with partial exposure to the elements were a unique touch, the novelty seemed to wear off quickly, making it a less appealing choice for longer stays.

The Mahogany Bay Resort was memorable because of the access to the private beach club & the captain of the boat was

Cabana style, aesthetically appealing and the private beach club. Professional and friendly stay.

Elevated prices for cabanas & food (not much of food selection at the Verandah). The room AC blew directly on the bed/head. No closets. Short staffed.

Beautiful facility and cannot wait to return.

The staff was excellent. I was there while there was still construction, however the construction did not bother me during my stay.

It would help if there was a place onsite where food is available later than 9pm.

The floor of our room wasn't clean. It had dirt or sand on it. I wish it had a full length mirror in the room hard to see with the mirrors so high in the bathroom.

Beautiful property, but could use some improvements.

Mahogany Bay was a beautiful property. Our suite was clean and comfortable. It was located a little ways from the airport, but still near plenty of restaurants, bars, and shopping. The pool area and private beach were amazing, and the staff was friendly and attentive.

The only complaint is that the website showed a suite with a completely furnished kitchen. That was not the case. When we arrived there was an ice bucket and one glass in the kitchen. I went back down to the front desk to inquire about this and was told other items were not furnished. I requested another glass and was told someone would bring one to our room…three days later upon checking out we had still not received a second glass.

Relaxing but not good for solo travellers as excursions and trips were for a minimum of 2 people.

Wonderfully designed bungalows where every inch was...

Wonderfully designed bungalows where every inch was carefully thought out. We didn’t have to use our air conditioner once because of this! Beautiful wood jalousie shutters let in the breeze while shading the interior. Windows on 3 sides of the unit allowed for cross ventilation. Screened in porch and palm trees cooled the air before entering the room.

I wish the private beach had deeper water but still beautiful!

Best first adventure out of the country, MBV has done an incredible job creating the perfect space.

We loved everything. The cottage was beautiful and cozy, the grounds are beautiful and had numerous amenities. I absolutely adored the yoga class, so much that I joined the class they had later in the day to make sure I got more time for rejuvenating. We loved the pool and the bar. The food was delicious. The private beach was beautiful, the bar and food there were wonderful as was the 360 view with hammocks at the top of the main building housing the bar and kitchen. Everything was amazing.

The sushi restaurant was not as amazing as the rest of the food available at the Verandah. And at the Rum and Bean there was a staff member preparing our coffees that appeared ill with a cold and had numerous coughing fits while preparing our drinks, coughing in to her hands or over our open and being prepared coffees. That was pretty discouraging and I honestly just threw my coffee away but it was an entirely isolated incident that doesn’t really shade the rest of my wonderful experiences too greatly.

We were 11 family members and it was not that inexpensive.

The roads within the resort are gravel and the carts travelling all hour were noisy especially as our unit was right on the road and only shutters on that side of the room. Also a bit dusty

Outstanding staff, especially Oscar who went beyond with our luggage snafu.

Their Private beach about a 10-minut boat ride away was lovely - and the service and amenities were just right.

The term “garden-view” room should be changed to “road-view”! The property was located a little too far out from city center, but not terrible.

Amazing service. Every staff member is so nice and helpful. Great breakfast. All around delicious food. So quiet and peaceful! Beach was quiet and relaxing. Also, they have great amenities on the beach.

Check-in and check-out took FOREVER! Those staff members need to be trained a little more.

Overall good

The private beach was spectacular! There’s a big problem on ambergris caye with seaweed but going out into the ocean to go to a beach completely eliminated that problem!

Food and drink was mediocre. The place that booked excursions messed up several times from booking us a day we didn’t want or agree on and then another time telling us the wrong time so we had to wait more than an hour. Overall accommodating but they could definitely improve. It is hard to sleep in with all the lawn work. They also can be overly persistent such as knocking and knocking and calling and calling your room

The private beach, food and drinks, and overall service made this place our favorite spot in Belize.

The best part of our stay was the private beach. There's just nothing like it on Ambergris Caye and it was as pristine and well-appointed as the photos suggest. The boat ride to the private beach was quick and easy and always punctual. Our room was wonderful - clean and modern and comfortable. The bed and linens were also top of the line. The staff (particularly Maria in the restaurant and Hardy at the bar) went above and beyond and the food, drinks, and service were excellent. We were blown away by the resort and highly recommend it.

Beautiful resort! Rooms were super cute!

The taco hut was wonderful and having the coffee shop as well was a definite plus!

More pool chairs and service out at the pool could of been a little better. The day we laid out I had to go to the bar every time without having staff waiting on the pool. All is all is was a great staff and I would recommend!

The hotel is amazing, very well decorated with very nice...

The hotel is amazing, very well decorated with very nice facilities. The private beach is incredible, the best on the island.

The activities organised by the hotel are extremely expensive. We were charged 600 dollars as a couple to visit the Blue hole. The restaurant service is very slow and the food very expensive.
